Wira team at ICE Barcelona: an example of stand support.

Hostesses for trade fairs and congresses in London

London does not have one exhibition ground, it has several and they are nothing alike. A stand in the Royal Docks and a presentation in a central venue are not staffed the same way. Tell us where your event is and we will build the proposal for that space.

The service

Every London venue asks for something different

ExCeL, in the Royal Docks east of the city, is where the large fairs happen. With its convention centre expansion the venue states six additional exhibition halls and 25,000 square metres of event space, with 37 individual meeting rooms and meeting space for up to 7,000 delegates in that new part.

But half the calendar of the city happens elsewhere: Olympia, the Business Design Centre or a private venue in the centre. The format there is smaller and reception looks more like a guest list than a trade fair desk.

English is the base. Spanish, French or Italian get added when you are expecting a particular delegation. Tell us the venue, the programme and the language per position and we will confirm it.

The venues

What changes depending on where it is.

01

ExCeL, Royal Docks

Home to the large fairs. Its convention centre expansion states six additional exhibition halls, 25,000 square metres of event space and 37 individual meeting rooms.

02

Olympia and the Business Design Centre

Mid sized formats spread across a floorplan. Guiding visitors matters more here than holding a fixed desk.

03

Central venues

A hotel, a club or a private room for a presentation or a client dinner. Reception is run from a list at the door.

04

Two points in one day

Pairing a stand by day with an event in the centre that evening is common. Those are two positions, not one that moves.

Roles

What you can ask for in London.

01

Reception hostesses

Welcome at the stand entrance, a filter on visitors and a record of who has already been attended to.

02

Accreditation and registration

Pass checks and attendee registration at the fair or in a closed session.

03

Guest management

List at the door of the private venue, reception by name and capacity control.

04

Multilingual hosts

English as the base, with Spanish, French or Italian when you are expecting a particular delegation.

05

Bar staff

Drinks service on the stand or at the reception you close the day with.

06

A point of reference

Someone holding the programme for both points and giving the team notice of what comes next.

FAQ

Before you brief us.

?

Which venue hosts London trade fairs?

ExCeL, in the Royal Docks, for the large ones. Olympia and the Business Design Centre for mid sized formats, and private venues in the centre for presentations and client events.

?

How much space does ExCeL have?

Its convention centre expansion states six additional exhibition halls and 25,000 square metres of event space, with 37 individual meeting rooms and meeting space for up to 7,000 delegates in that part.

?

Can you cover a stand and a central event the same day?

Yes, and in London it is the usual case. They are two separate positions, so send us both locations and the programme for each.
