Wira team at ICE Barcelona: an example of booth support.

Hostesses in Cologne

Koelnmesse sits inside the city, not out on the edge of it. That changes the shape of the day: visitors come and go easily, and your stand competes with the city for their time.

The service

Your stand at Koelnmesse.

We cover counter reception, aisle outreach, tasting service and meeting support for companies exhibiting in Cologne. The team is briefed on your product before doors open and knows which questions they handle and which go to your sales people.

Cologne is mostly food and home. Anuga and ISM bring retail buyers who work the floor with a closed diary, and at those shows a stand lives on two things: the tasting never stopping, and nobody with an appointment left standing.

The venue

Koelnmesse, in numbers.

01

290,000 sqm in the centre

The venue states 290,000 square metres of exhibition space and sits in the middle of Cologne, unlike the German venues built out of town. Your visitor can go into the city for lunch and come back, so the busy stretch of the day is more concentrated.

02

A crowded calendar

The same halls run ORGATEC from 27 to 30 October 2026, ART COLOGNE from 5 to 8 November, imm cologne from 19 to 22 January 2027, ISM from 31 January to 3 February and INTERMOT from 19 to 21 February 2027.

03

Tasting as the norm

At the food shows the stand hands out product all day. Decide in advance who serves, who clears and who talks to the buyer, because when one person does all three the conversation that matters gets lost.

04

What sets the team

Hall and stand number, whether there is tasting and across how many references, the languages you expect, and how many booked meetings you have per day. That closes the rota.

Trade fairs

Where we already work.

01

Anuga

One of the largest food and beverage shows in the world, held every two years. International retail buyers and a lot of stand tasting. We have a dedicated page with the staffing detail.

02

ISM

Sweets and snacks, from 31 January to 3 February 2027, with its ingredients and manufacturing sections. A trade audience and a product people taste, so the team is on its feet and moving all day. This one also has its own page.

03

spoga+gafa

Garden and outdoor living. Large stands, many with product displayed outside, where outreach works differently than in a closed hall.

Your brief

What we need to quote.

Show and dates, hall and stand number, whether there is tasting and what is served, how many people at the counter and how many in the aisle, and languages per position. That is enough for a closed proposal.

If you already work with a stand builder or a caterer, we fit around them. All we need is the build up schedule and who coordinates on site.

FAQ

Common questions.

?

Are you a hostess agency in Cologne?

Yes. We work the Koelnmesse shows with hostesses, hosts, tasting staff and multilingual profiles for exhibiting companies. Tell us the show and the hall and we will put a proposal together.

?

Can the team serve tastings?

Yes, it is one of the most common briefs at Anuga and ISM. Tell us what is being served, whether it needs refrigeration or cutting, and whether the stand has a washing area, because that sets how many people you need behind the counter.

?

Which languages should I ask for?

German and English as the base. At the Cologne food shows it is common to add French, Italian or Spanish depending on which retail markets interest you. Tell us where your buyers come from.

?

Do you also work the events outside the venue?

Yes. With the venue inside the city, a dinner or presentation at a central space during the same week is very common, and we cover it with the same team if that suits you.
